Family Updates

I haven't posted much lately, sorry for that! Here's why:

Xander and I went on a Star Wars Date. I'll do a post about it later, although I'm debating starting a secondary blog especially for dating your kids.

Also, I'm getting ready to have a Little Debbie Cloud Cakes party. They sent me SEVENTEEN boxes of cloud cakes!!! Needless to say, we've been having mini parties....

Lastly, my Vaughn broke his femur. Poor kid, he hates not being able to get up and do stuff!

So fun!!

I am in the middle of that spring fling challenge at the Studio, but wanted to do something for me.

For the last month, I've had some fun desktops featuring the Rock that I have enjoyed. But I missed seeing the real people I loved, so I remembered that Stuff to Scrap has a desktop challenge every month. I clicked on the May desktop challenge instead of April- not sure why, but I'm happy I did!! The theme was flowers, so I wanted something bright and happy. You all know my awesome friend, Andi, over at Hot Pink Pansy? Yeah, I used HER part of the Anything But Ordinary collab kit we did! Mine  can be found on THIS post.

Cleaning House

I'm taking down a few of the links to some of my kits. Don't worry. They're still free. I just need you to e-mail me and I'll send them to you directly. Thanks!!

Rapunzel Wall

I made this fun little Rapunzel tower for a friend's daughter's birthday party. I've decided to do an ENTIRE wall in my daughter's bedroom like this. I'm also debating whether I should post a tutorial on here or maybe make a few more to sell? Both?

What do you think?

This might be lame

But I'm super excited and hubby things I'm silly, so I'm posting here. So I had a double party tonight- Usborne Books and Shelf Reliance. Seriously cool companies!!

Shelf Reliance is food storage stuff. Darn tootin good stuff, as well. I'm totally getting this dehydrated yogurt... I don't even LIKE yogurt, but this Pomegranate Yogurt was SO super yummy, I'm thinking it may replace chocolate in the stress snack!! Don't get me wrong, it certainly wasn't the ONLY thing on my wishlist. I also want Bell Peppers, Spinach, Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Sausage.  I'll get you a link to my party when I know the details, but there you have my favorites.

Along with the food, we also had Usborne Books- super awesome! Now, this I DO know I have a party site and you can order from ANY state and have it shipped to you with still giving me credit for my party. So I get free books!! YAY!!! HERE is where you go to my e-party (open till next Wednesday).

My favorites there?

Yeah, it's a boxed set, but the books are great for my daughter who's learning to read, simple enough for my 2 year old to sit for, and entertaining enough for my 6 year old. It's called the Very First Reading boxed set.

Next,

Ok, so we might have a funky sense of humor, but i LOVED these books.  They talk about WHY we do those things, and how different animals do it differently. Totally hilarious AND informative!!

Also on the cute and informative side,

I think my daughter would LOVE this.

The next one, she WAS in love with and wanted to keep. It has two reading levels. One simple and one for Mommy (or older brother) to read along with.

Last, but not least, is the book I'd like to get Roger for Father's Day. Lots of big photos, lots of info, but not in an overwhelming, textbook way!

Anyway, so if you want your own (and to help a Fish out!) go HERE and order- it'll be shipped to you!!

Elements for Studio Wedding

I really do want to post more than just digiscrap stuff, I do. This is just so much easier to post pics of, lol. Summer will have lots more fun stuff. :D For now, though, here are my elements to go with the Spring Fling contest at the Studio. For now, you're gonna have to download it there, but I'll have the links eventually for you!(hopefully that link is fixed, thanks for letting me know!) Please leave a little love, as I have no way to see how many people have download the kit. Thanks!!

Wedding Kit Contests

So, I've been posting stuff at the Studio for a while now, but somehow, I missed that they were having this contest- till today. So, it's a 4 week contest. You use the same color scheme for each week (everyone picked different ones), and it's all about weddings, but each week is a different challenge. Like, this week was papers. We were supposed to design 12 papers. Yeah, I saw this today and it was due tonight at midnight, EST, so I decided to do it. If you do all four weeks, there's a chance to win a Bamboo. Anyway, here's mine. To download it, go HERE
Please leave a little love either here or on the Studio since dropbox doesn't count downloads. I have NO clue how many people like (or dislike) my kits!

Tempting

So, maybe if I get it all out there I won't be AS tempted......

With our tax return, we put a really big amount to paying off our credit  card. We were hoping to pay off the WHOLE thing, but it would've been the entire tax return and we had some other plans w/ a bit of it. ANYway. So it's close to being paid off. But it is SOOOOOO tempting to start racking it up again. Why, you ask? There are three things I need that are NOT cheap.....

1) I've been whining about it for forever!! I don't even know exactly which one I want or which one is good or anything like that, but I need a camera SOOO badly. I want to take a pic of the one I've got so you could see it, but..... this is the best I could do.

That's a rubber band holding the latch closed. And I can't find my lens cap to save my life. I have to change the rubber band every time I take the memory card out. It sucks.
2. I need one of these, too. Again, I don't have a clue to what's good or not. I've had mine for 7 1/2 years and it's not doing much anymore.

3. Last, but so very not least, is this:

This is the unit I want to build on my wall. Pottery barn, it's like ...$5,000. I'll never have that, ever. I know this. But to build it, it should cost me around $800. The green is what I want to paint my wall. The wood for the unit will be painted white. I found all the plans at www.ana-white.com

But alas, I don't want to put all that back on the credit card. The camera will have to last a year, Roger promised me that I could get one for tax return. I think it would be one thing if I were actually a professional, but since it's just a mini-side job now and then, it's not my main income. All the same, I feel ridiculous going to shoots w/ my camera like that.

The vacuum, yeah. That probably WILL go on the credit card, so if anybody has any suggestions as to which ones are good and which ones to steer clear of, I'd appreciate it.

The wall unit seems as far away as this business idea I have..... that I HAVE had for over 4 years and will never have the income to start. Ugh. Money sucks.

Add On Pack

So, I recently joined DeviantArt. Can I tell you how many AMAZING brushes are on there? Most of which you can't use for anything commercialish at all. I'm still learning all the rules, since I'm not in a store, I don't know how many apply to me and all that, but I got permission from one artist, Coby17, to use her brushes in my freebie kits. So, you can all go thank her for her incredible work in this kit!!! (Click on preview for direct download)

The site, though, is AMAZING!!!! You can find any kind of art- Darth Vadar Meets Hello Kitty, Some PHENOMENAL pictures/drawings/wallpapers of the Rock, LOST goodies, NCIS stuff, Bones, fan art of any kinds. It's seriously amazing. Here is a little collage of a bunch of stuff (besides brushes) that I've collected from there

Fun, huh?!? SO head over, check it out, and leave me some love on this post after you download the kit

Back in the Game!!

So, for those who don't know much about the LDS religion- but we put lots of emphasis on Family History. Also, our meetings are 3 hours long. The first hour is called Sacrament Meeting where we all meet together, take the sacrament, listen to talks, etc. Then the second hour is Sunday school. Here there are a few different options, the youth go to classes of kids their own age, etc. The adults can go to Gospel Doctrine, Gospel Principals, and then depending on the needs of the ward, other classes. Our ward just started a Family History class and Roger and I both went today. I have always been interested in Family History, but I get stuck and stop for a while. Today Roger went to the class today and we both got excited. Here are some things I've done so far that I hope to do more on.
